A New Blog

Hello to anyone who still follows this little blog! Obviously I've not posted on here in a very long time. Life got in the way, and much as I still love fashion (it's not really something you can ever fall out of love with is it?) and I still read lots of fashion blogs, I just can't find the time to blog about it myself anymore. I have, however, started up a new blog where I want to write about travel and lifestyle things and hopefully get a bit better at photography. I decided to start completely afresh as it is a change of direction. So if anyone fancies taking a look, it's Jasper & Ginny, and my first post is about a recent trip to Lapland.
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read, follow and comment on this blog over the years :)

Inspiration: Styling Nike Air Max

Sources: Google and Style Scrapbook.

In the spring I took a trip to Berlin, and was completely wowed by the laid-back, achingly cool fashion on the city's streets. Berliners certainly know how to rock a pair of trainers without looking like they're heading to the gym - and the shoe which graced many a German foot was the Nike Air Max 1. I came back with a massive craving for my own pair, and within a few months I had crumbled and bought them in the Bright Mango colourway. At around £84 with student discount, they were quite an investment, and I haven't yet got my cost-per-wear down to a satisfactory amount. As they are so bright and pretty chunky, they can be tricky to style..but of course with the wonders of the internet at my fingertips, I have found some brilliant inspiration. They seem to look best paired with a sleek silhouette such as sporty leggings or skinny jeans, and they also work well with a tailored outfit or a skirt for an eye-catching contrast.

How would you wear Nike Air Max?

Accidental Trending

Jumpsuit - Topshop // jacket - Ebay // bag - Forever 21 // shoes - New Look // necklace - Primark.

I wore this outfit to go out for drinks, and it was only after I'd put it together that I realised I was channeling a sports luxe vibe - jersey jumpsuit, mesh, varsity jacket, neon - it's all there, but I'd just styled it together because it looked...good I guess. It must be all the blogs and magazines I read, fashion just gets into my brain without my even noticing!
Have you ever accidentally dressed head to toe in a current trend?

Shirt Dress & Ankle Boots

Dress - Urban Outfitters // jacket and hat - River Island // bag - Primark // belt - charity shop // boots - Topshop // stole - came with a coat.

Not much to say about this outfit really, it's just a nice and easy casual look. Urban Outfitters is my go-to for throw-on dresses (but only if they're in the sale!) This one is great because it looks good cinched in with a belt, but you can also leave it loose for a cool smock-y fit. The Topshop boots are my pride and joy - totally worth the £75 price tag, and they go perfectly with my bargain bag and belt.
